Hidden gem my ass! It's true this is not the kind of place to get real sushi. I saw this restaurant had great reviews and not far from us.
My friend and I were looking for a sushi place to try this past weekend while our husbands worked. Tempura and gyoza was ok at best, sushi we had to throw out because it did not taste fresh. Ordered take out, 4 rolls, Gyoza and tempura. Ah-So Sushi & Steak - Japanese restaurant, live teppanyaki, large selection of sushi, a sports bar and entertainment. This place used to be great! Not so much now. First time trying since covid hit and everything was bad. Has always been a 3/5 decent place for occasional quick food. Covid may be putting the final nail in the coffin. It's kind of tucked away from a lot but it's probably the best bang for your buck to quality ratio you'll find. The damage may be shortlived as I really can't see how anyone would come back for a second session of this place's culinary torture. The best spot for sushi around that isn't annoying to get to. They have all-day bento box specials which seem to be a very good value for decent quantity/variety. I don't know what the O Sho people were thinking when they opened up this slop house but I think that they have permanently damaged their previously superlative brand. Oshio Japanese Restaurant is one of those small nooks in the area featuring a good variety of sushi, sashimi, classic bento box meals, korean dishes and noodle specials. It wasn't even in the same galaxy as the downtown O Sho's offerings. This wasn't sushi, it was fishy smelling, mushy rice, stinky nori crud. We should have turned and left but we very stupidly stayed to see if O Sho's wonderful food had made the river crossing successfully.
The lady at the counter literally could not get off the phone long enough to take our order and left us standing there dumbfounded for nearly 10 minutes until she finished screaming at someone about something that had nothing to do with the restaurant. James has DJd in some impressive venues including Sankeys - Manchester, Oceana - Leeds, Osho - Newcastle, The Rock Bar - Cirencester and many more. be served anywhere, let alone under the O Sho name which is a long-standing superb Lethbridge sushi destination. It is absolutely astounding that food this bad could. Let's cut to the chase: Horrible, disgusting and borderline unspeakable food, ridiculously disinterested staff, and all for the same price that you'd get a really great meal at the original O Sho across the Oldman River.

Sushi Sai on Atlantic holds a special place in my heart (my Japanese friend recommends their salmon skin salad). Sushi Restaurants for Large Groups in Lethbridge Osho Sushi on Chandler Avenue is gorgeous inside, with authentic and super fresh sushi.
